Traditional Roots

Since our incorporation in 1972, Santonio has evolved into a leading provider of aged care accommodation in Sydney. Starting with a vision to develop a facility in Kemps Creek, our journey has seen us grow and adapt,

culminating in the establishment of S. Antonio Village. With state-of-the-art facilities and a commitment to excellence, we’re proud to offer compassionate care to our residents.

The Beginning

In April 1972, the foundation of our journey was laid with the incorporation of S. Antonio da Padova Protettore di Poggioreale, Trapani (Sydney) Limited in the State of New South Wales.

By 1978, our aspirations took tangible form as the Association purchased a 25-acre property in Kemps Creek, Sydney’s West, with the vision of developing an aged care facility.

In April 1987, the journey took a significant turn as the land in Kemps Creek was sold to acquire an existing, viable, and profitable 26-bed nursing home located on Elizabeth Street, Ashfield NSW.

Into the 90's and 2000's

Operating successfully, the Association furthered its commitment to excellence by selling this facility to purchase a larger nursing home in Ryde in June 1990, capable of accommodating 40 residents. Subsequently, in 1992, the Association expanded its footprint by acquiring four adjoining properties to the original home, laying the foundation for constructing a new, larger Aged Care Facility.

The culmination of these efforts manifested in October 2005, with the official opening of the new building by John Watkins MP. This facility boasted state-of-the-art amenities and exceptional staff, allowing us to provide the highest standard of professional care for 50 residents.

With the desire to provide an excellent standard of care, S. Antonio Association completed further building works, adding a new wing in 2017.

Today

One of our primary goals has been to improve our Dementia and High Care areas within the Nursing Home.

Over the past three years, we’ve been raising funds, and May 2024 marked the successful completion of our major renovation project. This upgrade included the complete renovation of 35 rooms, the addition of new ensuites, enhancements to communal areas, landscaping gardens, kitchen upgrades, lift improvements, air conditioning installation and the construction of two additionalrooms.

Project managed by Sam Restifa and works carried out by Novati Constructions; this project has transformed our facility into a wonderful environment for our residents.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our supporters, from individuals to our amazing sponsors, who helped turn our vision into reality.
